I’m so exciting to be teaming up with my friends over at Old Navy to show you guys some of their awesome summer trends. I have been shopping at Old Navy since I was eight years old and always remembering feeling so cool and fresh when I got to splurge during back to school season at Old Navy! Now as a pretend grown up I look to them for classic staples and tailored twists on current trends. For Old Navy‘s June collection Ivory Coast the designers took the traditional cool black-and-white story and gave it an updated twist. Drawing from global influences and hand crafted African designs, this monochromatic collection weaves in soft, natural textures and angular geometric prints! I wanted to keep the look clean and tailored while still being comfortable, lightweight and polished. Pairing the artisan inspired minimal stripe back to a classic white jean helps keep the Ivory Coast trend cohesive, while the belt pulls it in for a tailored finish. Notice the styling details that elevate the look from dressed to styled. The clean front tuck is refined while the cuffed bottom is casual and effortless. The juxtaposition in the styling creates the polished, effortless chic look were after.Check out more of my favorite pieces from the Ivory Coast collection.
With Fathers Day right around the corner its time to start thinking about functional gifts for Dad. As a lover of skincare and grooming I’m always looking for brands that are seeking innovation for consumers and Morgans is doing just that. Morgans is a membership program that offers their vegan, cruelty free and sustainable toiletry products at production costs for $12 a month fee. For your body, for your planet and for your wallet. Today i’m going to be walking you through a few of my favorite products from the range and a few reasons why I love them. The first Morgans product that I’m loving is their Shaving Cream and Razor. The shaving cream is thick and creamy and is infused with natural fresh peppermint fragrance for a slight cooling effect and easily guides your razor for a clean, smooth shave. The refillable razor has a beautiful wood composite handle that looks and feels very high end.Morgans shampoo is a mild cleanser for the scalp and hair that features a blend of essential oils including Orange, Geranium, Cinnamon, Mandarin, Nutmeg, Petitgrain, Rosewood, Celery Seed, Grapefruit, and Vetiver. You can always count on Morgans to be free of laurel sulfates, parabens, synthetic fragrance and cruelty free. The Morgans conditioner replenishes the hair with natural oils leaving it smooth and manageable. This combo is super simple to use and fits great in any shower caddy.
Being a man in the Texas heat I go through a lot of deodorant and I mean A LOT and they need to be strong. I was a bit hesitant however I was pleasantly surprised with the staying power of the Morgans Deodorant. I also couldn’t help but notice the component of this product product is very similar to those of high end deodorants by some of our favorite designer fragrance brands. One of the big differences with Morgans Toothpaste is that there is now SLS (a harsh and unnecessary foaming agent used in most toothpastes that actually contributes to canker sores) and floride free. As you can see the biodegradable toothbrushes have soft bristles and handles made from sustainable bamboo. If your looking for a lightweight and clean moisturizer this one is a great fit. Ideal for the face and body, Morgans Moisturizer leaves skin feeling soft, smooth and never oily or slick. This product is fragrance-free however has great scent due to its fusion of essential oils.

After months of anticipation Indie Beauty Expo pulled up their boots and headed down south for IBE Dallas 2017! Indie Beauty Expo debuted in New York City in August of 2015 and has rapidly grown to become the largest professionally-curated exposition of independent beauty, lifestyle and wellness brands. To date, IBE has helped hundreds of brands from around the world and across different categories along their journey towards commercial success. During the three day event brand owners have the opportunity to mix and mingle with top executives from major retailers along with break out sessions and panels on marketing, inside sales and selling strategy. IBE was so kind to welcome me to attend as a guest speaker during their shop event that is open to the public. Along with being an influencer speaker IBE also gave me the opportunity to run a giveaway for one of my readers who won a VIP swag bag , gift card to shop the expo as well as some one-on-one time with me. (Shoutout to my girl @GoatieShorty it was so great meeting you!!!) Even though I came down with food poisoning less than 24 hours before Indie Beauty Expo I put on some concealer and made it to the festivities in good spirits (no bad batch of Taco Bueno will keep me down!)I was so excited to be apart of the Beauty Swap Panel discussing indie brand products you can swap for your favorite iconic items. It was a pleasure being among some fellow influencers who came out from around all over country. On the panel I spoke about a mens grooming brand from Europe that offers a range of artisan products made in Sicily called Big Boy. Look for Big Boy in my Top 10 products we love from Indie Beauty Expo Dallas blog post here.Wether you go to Indie Beauty Expo as a lover of small business, beauty junkie or are a green beauty connoisseur, IBE has something for you to discover. I was so blown away at the range of products that were available and even picked up a few to try out and have fallen in love with since the expo. One of the many of the things I loved about IBE was being able to meet a lot of brand owners like Jillian the co-founder of IBE (pictured above in her gorgeous pink dress) and Matt from the Dallas based brand SkinKick who told me about his passion to create a formula for acne and problematic skin with clean ingredients. Matt’s story was especially extraordinary and aspirational because he started this line as a career change in his life and it has given him the opportunity to give back to organizations close to his heart like Children’s Advocacy Centers to help abused children and the Amazon Conservation Association to protect the Amazon Rainforest. Check out SkinKick HERE!
It’s no doubt that Indie Beauty Expo are pros at connecting the dots between consumers and brands. From top to bottom IBE Dallas 2017 was seamless. Follow Indie Beauty Expo for updates on when they will travel to a city near you!
