There are many things in life I love and naturally parties are one of them. When the new music venue Bomb Factory located in Deep Ellum first opened last month I was itching for a chance to check it out but bands like 3 doors down and seether arnt my typical dance party playlist choices. When Bomb Factory sent out tickets to the private “VIP PARTY” and teased a surprise musical guest I knew I had to be there. Whispers about who the act would be went on for a month with suggestions like Ashanti, Tyler The Creator and even Grimes but it was Marina And The Diamonds who shut down the new 4,000+ capacity venue! It was amazing to see such an international pop superstar in such an intimate venue. That’s the beauty of the new Bomb Factory, its more spacious and modern then its a emulators House of Blues, Trees and Granada, yet it feels extremely intimate. Hosting a balcony of seating and multiple suites there is not a bad view in the house.
It was 9:00 P.M. when Marina And The Diamonds hit the stage with her hit “Bubblegum Bitch”, those who know Marina’s music (Myself included) burst into excitement as Marina is just so conveniently skipping Dallas on her upcoming north american tour. Having just released her latest musical effort “Froot” in the spring, this is her first appearance in Dallas in over two years. Marina cruised through her biggest hits “Froot”, “Primmadonna”, “I am not a robot” and my personal favorite “Savages”. accompanied with a live band, a beautiful light show, intriguing lyrics and a wicked distinct tone it is clear why Marina has been able to carve her spot in the pop industry without stunts or scandals. Marina will kick off her limited engagement North American tour next week and continue to support “Froot” on her world tour this summer!
