I was in the 7th grade walking through the halls feeling like I ruled the world when I owned my last pair of Chucks. A 5’6 version of me, sassy, misunderstood and completely trapped in a world that didn’t get me. However I overcame all of that in my bright purple Chuck Taylor low tops, They eventually became splattered with bleach as I grew into the “Emo” stage of my adolescence. Its the memories that stick with you in every pair of $40 chucks you’ve owned. Maybe you wore them with a dress to your 9th grade Easter dinner, or maybe you wore vintage high tops your grandfather used to play basketball in. Every Pair tells a story, and that’s what I love about these shoes. I’m loving a white high top for spring, its so clean and sporty, yet very stylish. Luckily for me they were on sale at Lord + Taylor over the weekend so you know I had to snatch them up! (If you follow me on Twitter @ChristianCraven you saw this!). I Pair them back to my favorite Rag & Bone jeans, and a basic leather jacket and it instantly creates an effortless chic look. In Dallas it was 78 degrees three days ago, and today it was 47, you tell me how that makes any sense, so having multi seasonal pieces like these are IMPERATIVE, especially when your already working on your spring/summer closet instillation. Its always important to me to mix those high and low pieces, and to keep working on your effortless chic, you never know, in 5 years I might be telling you about that outfit post I did with those white converse.
